I want to buy one so bad   but I know I will probably stress myself out when I can't find the hb.

This is why I don't have one... But in a few weeks I should start feeling kicks and I'll feel so much better!

I know! I belong to a fb group for women who are pregnant after a loss & the stories are HEART WRENCHING! There are times I have to take a few days away from it b/c it heightens my paranoia that something will go wrong again. But, it's such a supportive and informative outlet for all the feelings that come with being pregnant after loss, that I've grown to care about them, so I can't leave!

Hubby & I found the heartbeat together yesterday morning. Wouldn't stay in one place long enough to enjoy it fully, but felt better finally finding it. Later, on webcam w/my mom, I tried again for her (and my sister came home from shopping right then) --- and we all heard it loud & clear! It was a great moment. We all cried

Now, I've promised myself to only do it on Saturdays, the beginning of each new week for me. Can't wait til uterus gets up high enough that I don't have to go hunting for it as long!

So I'm highly disappointed after my appointment yesterday. For those who don't know, I'm considered a high risk pregnancy due to an auto-immune disease called Sjorgren's Syndrome. The positive SS-A/RO antibodies in my blood can cause many issues with the pregnancy ranging from miscarriage to stillbirth to a complete heart block. Therefore, I'm "supposed" to be closely monitored and receive frequent ultrasounds from a maternal fetal heart dr to watch for a heart block in the baby. I had met/consulted with a high risk ob and maternal fetal heart dr in Boston originally, as that is where I see the specialist for my disease. They were very persistant and adament that i receive quality care from a high risk ob. Even my rheumotolgoist was.

So my local ob referred me to the high risk ob in the capital of my state. After meeting with him, he told me he doesn't view it necessary to see me as a patient.. That the ultrasounds to watch for a heart block are only 80% effective and could either miss the heart block or see an issue when there isn't one, so "why travel the ride here every 2 weeks.". He had read the report from the obs in boston and still made the decision. The heart block isn't the only issue. I could develop pre-eclampsia and neonatal lupus as well. I'm concerned that now, any issue could go unnoticed... my regular OB doesn't know anything about my disease and isn't "trained" to find any issues with the baby's heart like this. I'm truly concerned that now I won't get the best care.

I don't believe there are any other high risk ob / fetal heart dr's in the area. I still have the option to travel to Boston to be seen there, but it's a 2 hour drive in NO traffic.

Quoting A Beautiful Disaster:"   that breaks my heart. I have never experienced the loss of a child and hope to God I NEVER do. "

Pregnancies #2 & #5 were twins but in both cases one baby basically absorbed the other one. I lost one @ 5 mo and delivered a girl and the other @ 12wks. Pregnancy #4 also ended in a M/C @ 12 wks and I didn't listen to the dr when she said no sex cause 3wks later when I went in for birth control I found out I was pregnant, our son is now almost 4! I have to believe it was all for a reason otherwise I would not be able to be a hands on mom to my other beautiful children, they are the reason I get up everyday!

At 11 weeks the baby is a size of a fig, little bigger than kumquat lol. Thats pretty small which is why at that size its impossible to feel, even it being your second and third pregnancy. Everytime I feel bubbles I always have gas or my stomach makes noises. I didnt even feel my son move til I was 23 weeks pregnant. Its alright if you think its baby though lol   So DH just told me he doesnt wanna know what the baby is at thr anatomy scan. I have to know, theres no way around it lol.. Even though I will know I still have to have a gender neutral baby shower ;( not happy about it ;(

How frustrating. I'm sorry Momma. Hugs

Maybe you can call local OBs and see if anyone has experience with your condition. I'd a local hospital and see who they recommend, then check with your insurance. I want to believe there is more than one person in the state who will take your case? Don't give up after one no.

Every pregnancy is different tho, she very well may feel something. We're not her body so why doubt? This is my 6th pregnancy so i'm sure I will feel movement soon and I'm only 10wks 1dy.

It's frustrating to me that I cant tell for sure lol Ill probably stay in denial If it is baby until I can tell for sure. I am very small which I heard can make you feel it earlier, but who the heck knows! Lol I know its one active baby though from the ultrasound and hearing so much movement on the doppler

11 weeks today! Listened to the doppler, still got a strong heartbeat and all. I feel pretty good today. Went to babies r us and looked at cribs for the hell of it with hubby (after a nice lunch at a Mexican restaurant , I've been craving Mexican food lately lol. I had 2 beef tacos , a bean and cheese burito and a cheese enchilada. Sounds like a ton but was super filling with some chips and salsa ) . I think we have a few in mind, due to the bedding we have we're going to go for a medium or dark colored wood probably, and there were some nice ones. I'm gonna wait at least 6 more weeks to order it though of course lol.

I'm not here to argue either, I'm just here to support and encourage! I just don't like to tell ppl what they do or don't feel. I'm not an expert, I can only say what I've felt and been through.
