7 month old trying to latch on??

posted 7th Dec
My DD is 7 months old now and just amazing. I breastfed the first two months and never had any issues. It was the most amazing experience of my life and I've always wanted to relactate but idk if its possible now.. Anyway lately she has been trying to latch on, ALOT, and she gets all angry and emo because nothing comes out. Does anyone think I should start trying to relactate for her? Why might she be doing this? It doesn't seem for comfort because she seems to want to eat... I do notice though that it happened after my bff came into town and she still breastfeeds. Jenn was holding Zoey and she just tried to latch onto her! Haha. Musta smelled it or something.

Yes! Try! There are pills and teas, and you can also pump to stimulate!

Wish I could get some more input on this. I really want to know why she's trying to latch on and if its realistic to think I could relactate so long after having stopped bf..thanks for reading.

You absolutely can but it will take dedication. I'm on my phone and can't link you, but Google search Kelly mom and relactation, it'll give you great advice.

Good luck!

1) Read the articles here: http://kellymom.com/category/ages/adopt-relactate/
2) Kiss sleep and your life as you know it goodbye
3) Break out the pump start pumping every 2 hours fro 20-30 min and even some power pumping 10 min 10 min off for an hour. This includes the middle of the night
4) Latch her as much as possible. Before eating after eating middle of eating playtime. Pretty much something should be attached to your breasts all the time
5) Ask WIC or see if you can hunt down a supplemental nursing systemhttp://www.medelabreastfeedingus.com/products/51/supplemental-nursing-system-sns No more bottles use that
6) I will bring you all my vitamins I had with Katy when im out there take them religiously.
7) Make sure you arent pregnant
Remember that store we went to when you pregnant in Chandler call them and ask when their next BFing class is or call WIC and tell them you want to talk to lactation.

Dedication and time you may never be able to EBF but you could get something back (maybe even EBF who knows) in time. You have to be religious about it, especially with her sleeping through the night.

If you are pregnant she could be sensing that. Otherwise it could of been her getting a whiff of my milk or just a weird baby thing.

No. The birth control helped keep me regular but when I'm not on it I can go months without having one.
