Chicken pox in infants
posted 7th Dec
Has anyone's baby had chicken pox? My kids came in contact with someone with the chicken pox last weekend and today and yesterday my youngest 2 have been a bit off. They're 4months and almost 2. I'm more worried about the baby getting really sick.

I remember reading somewhere that infants get chicken pox antibodies from the mom while in utero so if you've had them it could be unlikely your baby would catch it or it probably wouldn't be that bad.
If you start to notice signs and symptoms I would of course take them in, but I don't think it would be too bad.

yea i just read that too but a baby in my due group had them at like 5 weeks old so I know its possible

Chicken Pox has a 2 week incubation period, so while it is possible the kiddos get them and get sick, it isn't likely they are exhibiting symptoms just yet.

I read it was 6-10days. I guess I'm just being paranoid but I don't want to deal with chicken pox over Xmas and my daughters birthday specially a toddler and baby with them at the same time. My oldest has had them but he wasn't too bad. He was 2 and a half from memory.
