Plagiocephaly
posted 6th Dec
My son is almost 8 months. At two months we had to go through physical therapy for torticolis and at four months he was fitted with a cranial band by Hangar Orthotics for Plagiocephaly. He had a severe flat spot on the back of his head on the left side due to the torticolis. I was hesitant to start the band therapy but after a sucessful 12 weeks we are cranial band free and I would recommend it to any parent facing torticolis and plagiocephaly. Our insurance covered the cost of the therapy and band entirely and every three weeks for twelve weeks he had minor adjustments made to the foam inside the cranial band. We had it decorated with an offical NFL team logo....We are Steelers fans. Just thought I would share my journey with you.

Glad you had such a great experience with helmeting!! my son had tort and brachycephaly, he was borderline for needing a helmet so insurance wouldn't cover it, but now (he'll be 2 next saturday) you can never tell he had a flat spot! he still tilts off and on and still has some facial asymmetry though. he was officially cleared from torticollis 2 weeks ago!

My daughter will be 6months next week and she has Torticollis and plagiocephaly and she has psychical therapy every Friday! Her head only measured 7mm difference so she didn't need the helment. Her head is starting to go back to ""normal"" and she can finally turn her head to the left now!!
Thanks for sharing!! I'm glad all is well now
