DH told my kids that Santa isn't real...

posted 6th Dec
I gave him the Easter bunny. No fake bunnies who Lay eggs around this house. Whoopty woo. We agreed on Christmas celebrating Jesus, but also letting me play Santa and he would play along. The smurf head when my son for the baizzilionth time asked about Santa, he says, "It doesn't matter. Santa isn't real. He doesn't exhist". So I heard this and spoke up real quick... "don't listen to daddy he was a bad boy when he was little and only ever got rocks for Christmas from Santa. He was a meaner". And the kids were like yeah dad you were just a bad boy. So I think I fixed his bloop. But why the hell?

ETA our boys who are old enough to understand are practically 5 and 3.

What you said about your husband to the children was pretty bad though....

My siblings believed until they were 12. I think it's harmless and 5 and 3 is waaay too young to tell them Santa's not real if you decide to play along with the story!

Oh for smurf's sake.

They agreed on something and then he got pissed and ruined it for the kids. Pretty smurf move on his part.

Why? What part? Isn't that what people say? Bad children get coal. My kids don't know what coal is. So I said rocks. :/

I agree. It's not the fact that it's "just Santa"... it was for the children and he shouldn't have said that if they decided the Santa decision together.

What might be "just santa" to some could be an important tradition that someone grew up with and wants to pass onto their children... I dont think there was anything wrong with what she said about her DH I would have handled the situation alot worse so I salute her for that. I dont want someone ruining my kids belief in santa when they are just 3 and 5 especially not my own husband..

I know.

DH is def. not getting Santa gifts. But a tin of rocks in his stocking and a little note that says something about believing. And then of course the gifts from us   gotta fix his bloop and my kids remember everything.
