I think that you handled it well, and I think your SO is very disrespectful. I love how people pick apart the OPs response but gloss over the fact that he just made two kids and a wife miserable because he is an intolerant asshat. What if the dialogue was opposite and the OPs husband was trying to convince the kids that Santa was real, then would these picky pants posters have a different opinion-jeeeeeeppers smurfing creepers.
And OP, I dont know how old your SO is but he sounds incredibly bitter, immature, and negative in all of your posts, just dont sell yourself short.

I'd be upset too! It's not about the fact that there is or isn't Santa. It's about the fact that we made a parenting decision and DH didn't follow through. Peyton will believe in Santa for however long he wants to really, I'm sure he will figure it out because DH and I figured it out too but for now there is no harm in him believing in a little magic. It's not about the fact that it's Santa, it's about the fact that he didn't follow through with their decision and just took things into his own hands without even consulting her first. What she said really wasn't that bad, IMO. My DH would have laughed.

My DH can be disrespectful at times. And I think it was rude about Santa. But most of the time he is actually a very nice, loving husband. Most of my posts are actually about my aunt, who I have problems with.

That being said, yes. At Christmas time he can be a big fat jerk at times. During the holidays he is Lucky enough to be reminded how his sister his his dads favorite and his little brother is his moms favorite and no one in his family calls until the holidays. And it's not to see how he is, but to rub in what they have bought his brother and sister and grandkids from the daughter. But my husband doesn't even get a card usually. And when he does his own mom spells his name wrong :/ so I try to be understanding.
And just like any relationship we have out ups and downs. I'm no saint lol Overall we have a good marriage. Although I did tell him how I was really feeling about his nonsense yesterday and we had a good talk. We have a lot going on as a family if you've read my posts and we both are handling things the best we can

You know what I am so sorry, maybe I am mixing your SO up with another in my PT-I apologize. All men can be knobs sometimes, but he was really high on the knob scale in that situation,lol.
I detest favoritism-I feel for him, but remind him not to let bitterness rule his life.

I agree. He is back on board and apologized to me. And even told a few stories this weekend when the kids asked about Santa.  

As for the favoritism bit, he is handling that the best so far this year than he has in the past. I don't think he's bitter as much as his feelings being hurt. KWIM?
