Fluke?!

posted 6th Dec
My DD (almost 15 months) just came up to me saying "I poop! I poop!" So I checked to see if she did, and she goes "NO! I poop!'' and ran to the bathroom and lifted the toilet lid and again said "I poop!" while pointing at the toilet. I stuck her on, but was having trouble with her tiny little bum fitting so I put her on my DS's training potty. Sure enough she pooped and peed!

Do you think it's too early to continue encouraging this, even if she's the one that initiated it? Any tips?

I'm just scared to get excited if it's not going to happen again lol, especially because DS will be 3 in March and has absolutely no desire/interest in using the potty.

Nope its not to early, if she already telling you she wants go then keep at it. And reward her for it.

I would just keep following her lead. But don't be discouraged if she loses interest or regresses a bit. It's normal and expected, especially at such a young age.

Just follow her lead, don't want to scare her   Maybe keep the potty down for her to get at, so she can poop and pee when she wants. The little girl I babysat last year went on the potty a lot when she was your little ones age.

I'm scared of her regressing, only because DS did and now he won't go near the potty. But he's also almost 3.

Yeah, I am definitely going to keep the little potty out and easily assessable   and thank you, that's encouraging!

My mom said I was potty training around this age too, so let's hope it lasts!

Be honest my girl potty trained fast and I didnt have any problems with her she was all about the stickers and m&ms. But my son is 2 1/2 right now and doesnt want anything to do with the potty. IMO girls are easier to potty train because they want be just like mommy.

That's exactly what everyone has been telling me.

I thought it was funny that she went to the big potty instead of the little potty lol

I got a chart because one of my friends told me that what she does with he son. And she starts off with it you go potty atleast 2 days this week then friday we will get a surprise whether it was Mc Donald's or whatever . And each week she added day to it. And she had her son potty trained in 5 months. So thats what I'm going try with my son.

That's a good idea. My son is a very visual and hands on learner. I think a rewards chart would be great! Thanks! Good luck, hope it works for your son
