How many words does your two (or almost) year old say?
posted 6th Dec
It is recommended that a 2 year old can say 50 words.
My 22 month old says 21 different words(including bubble and mail, the rest are one syllable or semi-phrases did it/there it is but they aren't super clear to everyone), 9 different sounds (dinosaur, dog, cat, train, car, car horn, cow, monkey and frog), he also knows 9 different body parts. 4 words just popped up between yesterday and today Yes I am writing every single one down along with all the other things I mentioned because I like keeping track of those things.
What is your toddler up to?

Are you serious, 50 words?? Isla can say maybe 10 and just the basics hi bye bottle mum dad ball bath no nana baby rico. And that's probably it. She understands almost everything you ask her to do thought
She's definitely not up to where her older brother was with talking and milestones

Dang, I don't feel like counting. lol
Let me think... He says like 20-25 words. Knows animal sounds, he knows pretty much all the letters except he calls "A" b and he calls "K" l. haha He only knows the number 2, 8, and 9. He knows the parts of his face.
He doesn't talk as much as other kid's his age I noticed..

I said 11-25 words and my daughter is 18 months old. Everyday she adds more and more as she is copying things now. She loves to talk and be like Mommy.

Just shows how differently kids develop!

I feel like a pain typing them all out because itll be so long, but it's the only way I can really keep track and remember
DD is 18 mmonths old.
Uhmmm...
She says momma, Dada, brubru (brother), JoJo (her brother), Kitty, puppy, yes, no, hi, hello, bye, GA (they call my mom that), popem (my dad), uh oh, thank you, welcome (gelcome, for you're welcome), please, car, ball, bubble, diapey, wipes, cup, blankie, gaga (that's what we call pacifiers), oops, woah!, nuh night, two, tickle, up, down, nose, wa-wa (water), more, milk, eyes, ears, shoe, go, numnum/food, yay, boots, mine, anddddd I can't remember any more
She can recognize nearly everything we say to her. If we ask her to get something she will. She knows whose phone is whose and if she sees one of our phones on the table she brings it to the right person
She can show us her nose, eyes, mouth, hands, and feet if we ask. And sometimes ears. She gets confused with those lol. And she knows the sounds for cats, dogs, cows, pigs, and cars (vroom). She loves dancing and likes to sing. Like "dun dun dahhhhhh dahhhh". She sings the star wars theme (or tries) with DS hah
IDK what else. But she's smart, I'm super proud!

my son is 26 months and knows a lot of words... He repeats anything his brother tells him to say, repeats words out of the books I read to him and can say some sentences, he also likes to say sentences with names at the end like "can I have some Chase?" "Thank you mom". His vocabulary is awesome for his age! His brother on the other hand was a late talker but now we cant get either of them to stop!

DD only knows the number 2. We try to get her to count and say "ooooone" and she says 2. If we say 3, she says 2. And so on

DS didn't know the number 14 for the longest time. He would just skip right over it. Always haha

my son will be 2 in a few weeks and only makes noises.
he rarely says mama.
and sometimes says dadadada
but he doesn't use them to call us, he is playing or minding his business and saying those words.

Thank you for the input I am glad to know that DS isn't behind or ahead or anything abnormal
