Madi is 25 months.
What DOESN'T she say? lol. The stuff that comes out of her mouth..
She was an early talker (about 3 word sentences at 18 months, 3-4 at 22 months-ish, and now 5-7 word sentences at 25 months). As far as actual words goes, I don't know how many she knows. I stopped really counting at around 14 months. She and I have conversations (short ones, obviously). It's fascinating to hear what goes on in her little head!

And now she's at the stage where she always asks "Mommy, why do you say _______" whatever word she doesn't know. I have to be super careful what I say cuz either she or her brother will repeat it.

I agree! DS comprehends just about everything but because I stay home I think that is why he doesn't say as much because he will just scream if he wants something that he doesn't know how to tell me  And I figure out what it is though I try to convince him to talk. It will come in time though. My brother didn't really talk until 2 1/2 so I'm not worried

Have you tried sign lanugage. My kids both started dayvare at 3 weeks old and they did sign lanuguage with them, my middle picked up on it really fast and could sign for bottle, more, tired and a few others by 8-9 months old. But by 1 she was talking really well so didnt need to use it, but she still did. lol

I never gave them what they wanted if they screamed for it tho. lol They could show me what they wanted, and I would help them learn the sign or how to say it, if they screamed and just pointed they didnt get it at all. lol

I tried sign language but he never caught on to it. Most days he is pretty good and just screams at his toys because they aren't doing what he wants them to do lol. He brings me his cup when he wants more and I used to keep fruit out until he would just eat that all in one day so now I don't. He has snacks he can get in the cupboard and he knows where they are. Just some days he screams and won't help me figure out what he wants.

I have a 4 month old too and I am hoping that he will talk sooner/more than my oldest since they are 17 1/2 months apart. Most of my oldest words have only come up since the baby was born too so I know he is smart he just doesn't want to talk!
