just wondering if there are any other mamas here with babies who have downs? since kogon was diagnosed with downs and i haven't exactly had any experience with downs or babies in general - i'm wondering if there are any other mamas on here who do have experience with downs. he seems to be doing pretty well considering how he made his grand entrance and all...(he decided it was going to be one particular ob or no one...that particular ob wasn't on call that day, so kogon decided to come at home...already defiant at 2 weeks!) anyone out there?

thanks so much! it was quite a shock at first for all involved, my husband, family, doctors,myself...i love bg so much and have found it such a great resource while i was pregnant and now that he's here with all the unanticipated surprises - it would be nice to get some insight from others with first hand experience. thanks so much again@

I don't have any experience with babies with downs, but I have worked with many young children and adolescents with Downs Syndrome. Because of my experiences I have always said that I would be perfectly okay with having a child with DS. The kids I have worked with are some of the most affectionate kids I have ever met. They definitely take a little more time and effort, but their desire to please you and make you happy is well worth the extra work. Congratulations on such a wonderful addition to your family!

My son Lincoln has downs, he is almost 11 months old, and the best gift God has ever given me. If you have any questions at all feel free to ask. There a couple of other ladies on here as well that have been blessed with children with downs. How did you find out? Again, feel free to PM me anytime with any questions. I don't claim to know everything, but I will gladly share what I have learned.

I just had a thought with the spitting up and bottle issue. Nathan has Apraxia that usually comes along with Downs. It made him not be able to suck right and take in all that air while eating.
sorry didnt help none it was just a random thought.
