6 month old sick baby

My daughter is a little over 6 months old and is coughing her poor little head off so bad she's throwing up. She also has a ton of mucous, we went to the dr today and they said she could have RSVP, but she isn't wheezing yet so they can't do anything. My baby girl is completely miserable. Is there anything I can do or give her to make her more comfortable?

Humidifier. Keep her elevated, like in her infant seat or bouncy chair, not laying flat.

Take her in the bathroom while a hot shower is going, the steam helps

They couldn't test her for it??

Apparently not. I figured they'd at least do that, but didnt   said to wait it out.

They have pretty cheap ones at Target, like...$15. They get the job done.

Another thing I just tried for my daughter that worked alright was putting chopped up onion right next to her, that clears out the sinuses, lol, but with a six month old, you'd want to be watching to make sure her eyes don't get super irritated or anything since she can't tell you if something is wrong.

This past Sunday my lil guy woke up coughing so bad that he too start vomiting. I took him to the dr first thing Monday morning and they tested him for strep, rsv and the flu. Everything came back negative. Btw, my lil guy will be 5 months on this Sunday. Anywho, he had a lil congestions and wheezing in his chest, lots of congestion in his nasal, low grade fever and a HORRIBLE AND I MEAN HORRIBLE COUGH. The dr suggested us purchasing some baby vicks and put a small dime size on his chest twice a day (I've been doing it around 10am and right before he goes to bed). Surprising this has work. Now don't get me wrong he's still congested but no cough as of today and he started acting like himself. Another thing she said was to have him sleep in his carseat, bouncer, swing or whatever we had to prop him up and to use the nasal thing (sorry brainer fart on the proper name right now). Thanks ladies. I've been doing the steamy showers, a humidifier, Vicks rub, nasal drops, and Tylenol with lots of cuddling and breast feeding. It's helping but she was still so miserable so I bought Hollands baby cough syrup off of amazon and had it priority shipped. Got it today and she's a lot better, more comfortable. I just wish I could take it away. Her poor little eyes are so watery she can hardly keep them open   but she isn't wheezing yet so still can't take her in again. I just feel so helpless.
