Package lost in mail

The Email I received was this.

-Do I just go knock on my neighbors door & ask if they received my package?
Would that be weird? I don't like talking to any of these people. We live in an apartment

Tracking shows that your order was delivered in ************** on December 03, 2012, 11:56 am. This would have been delivered to your mailbox in a small padded mailer envelope. My suggestion would be to check with your local post and neighbors. Also, please do me a favor and verify your shipping address. If your package is returned to us we will contact you for re-shipping options. If for some reason it does not reach you or back here to us within 30 days we can file a Lost Package Claim and see to re-shipping your package. I apologize for the inconvenience caused by USPS and we will do all we can on our end to make sure you receive what you ordered. I look forward to hearing back from you with your shipping address"

Did you lose a package or is it your job to respond to those emails?

I would just call amazon and USPS.

It has SO's Christmas in them

It is! They wont do smurf about it. I called USPS twice and they said they had the package..I went up their to get the package..and it was a package of something else.

If it was delivered and someone took it, there's nothing they can do - just happened to a friend of mine.

I would ask your neighbors, but try and find a way to where it doesn't seem like you are accusing them. Maybe just mention that the post office delivered your package to the wrong address and did they happen to drop it off with them?

It's Amazons problem. USPS will not work with you anyway, as you were not the shipper. It's Amazons responsibility to file the claim, as well as contact USPS.

That's bullsmurf, but I'm not surprised because it is that time of year
