I want to stop co-sleeping. help!

posted 6th Dec
My DD is 11 months old and she's slept in her crib her entire life except this past month.
She got very sick and so I let her sleep in my bed and when she got better, she didn't want to sleep in her crib anymore.

She sleeps on a pillow in my bed and has a blanket, if I put a pillow in her crib she will stay in there but im a little worried about suffocation risks.

Wwyd ? I love sleeping with her but it's cramped with SO, DD, and I in one bed and im not getting any sleep   Help?!

I would put a firm pillow in her crib for her. You can put it under her crib sheet so it can't move around

My daughter will be 13 months old tomorrow and she sleeps with a pillow and blanket in her crib. Once they are old enough to roll over and stuff i think it's fine i think she was 10 months old or so when i gave her a pillow.

I know there will be people who aren't going to like this but I've let my son sleep with his pillow since he was about that old as well. He was old enough to roll over and pick his head up so I really wasn't worried about him suffocating. I'm pretty sure babies can tell when they cant breathe well in a certain position and will move. So if you feel comfortable letting her have the pillow and it lets her sleep better than I think it should be fine but If you dont maybe you can fold a lighter blanket or something to make a make-shift pillow or something.

Have you tried a small pillow designed for babies? I've seen them in ikea! They look more like a flat, rectangular cushion and sell them in the pillow section

my son rolls over in his sleep sometimes, hes 4 1/2 months old. it freaks me out when i look over and hes on his stomach with his head down, and i kept rolling him back over lol but everyone kept telling me he'll be fine if i leave him and i shouldnt worry so much about it. now when he rolls over he lifts his head up, even when hes asleep. he doesnt have a pillow or anything yet still.

im sure it'll be fine to put a pillow in the crib, i keep being told babies know when they need to roll over and if they cant breathe (well after a certain age, and im sure at 11 months your daughter would be able to)

maybe try it and just keep an eye on her for the first few days? like before you go to bed just check on her every now and then and eventually you'll start to feel better about it.

Thanks for all the replies ladies.
I think I'll try putting a pillow in her crib tonight.
her crib is in my room so I can see her all through the night and I'll be able to check on her plenty.
