I'm sure either would be a good purchase. My son got a leap pad for Christmas last year. I liked that it had a camera on it.

My 5yr old just got a leap pad. He's tried playing the DS and Wii and both were too hard for him. The Leap pad he navigates with ease and absolutely loves! He's got a dinosaur digging game that he adores.
