I get it, but if I wasn't high risk for flu-related complications I probably wouldn't.

DD doesn't get them, and I normally don't but my OB recommended that I do to protect LO when she's born since its the flu season. I'd rather be safe than sorry

I haven't gotten a flu shot in eight years. DD has never gotten one and neither has DH *knock on wood* and neither of them have ever gotten the flu.
The last time I got a flu shot (in 2004) I wound up in the hospital from severe dehydration because I in fact had gotten the flu. Haven't contracted the flu since that time.

My Dad got a flu shot & was super sick for days! So I will never get one. DD got one & it also made her super sick!

We dont get them. I cant I had a allergic reaction to having flu shot when I was little when I had my first shot. My throat closed up and I turned blues with hives everywhere. So no flu shot for me ever.

I guess Im just worrying because ds randomly threw up at my moms.
Then reading the news article and hearing on the news about the teenage girl dying. Then the thought of having a newborn, and all these germs everywhere makes me question whether I and dh should get one. This is all who should get shots according to Department of Health.

Children younger than five, but especially children younger than two years old
People 50 years of age and older
People of any age with certain chronic medical conditions including diabetes, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, kidney disease, liver disease, neurologic disorder, blood disorder or a weakened immune system
People who live in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities
People who live with or care for those at high risk for complications from flu including healthcare workers, household contacts of persons at high risk for complications from the flu and household contacts and out-of-home caregivers of children less than 6 months of age (who are too young to be vaccinated)

The Influenza shot is not for the stomach flu. Influenza is a respiratory infection. Stomach flu is a gastro infection.

There are a lot of deaths linked to influenza, but because flu shots cannot be tested properly, it's not worth it to me or my family.

I've never received the flu shot and neither have my kids.

Never have had one..never have had the flu either
