What vaccinations did you choose & why? Did you also delay any vaccinations, & if so, for how long?

After reading up on each one, I only feel compelled to get the HIB, Rotavirus, & Pc.

We delayed until 3 months with Ev, will probably do so again. And she only got one shot at a time.

Ollie has only gotten pc and hib, and those only because Landon is starting school soon. And we only get one at a time so I can be positive about reactions.
Since I bf, rotovirus isn't a giant concern for me, and the viruses it contains kinda sealed that one as a no.

And we don't do flu or chicken pox.

We waited on the Hep B until after 6 months. I wasn't expected him to be in any possible situations of coming into contact with the infection.
We didn't do Rotavirus at all. Didn't see the point.
At 6 and 9 months we started with MMR and the polio combo ones. Anything else is delayed until a year.

I will probably go back & read again, since I don't remember exactly why I said yes to rotavirus.

I am hoping to BF for awhile, if it only lasts a few months then I may consider more vaccines.

so you do them all except those two? that's a good idea just doing one at a time

I don't see the point in the hep B or polio one, especially polio as there hasn't been an outbreak in what, 30+ years? so you waited until 6 months for those vaccines?

Ev's been vaxed against everything, but I didn't research smurf with her,I just did it. I may choose to not get Gwen other shots, I need to do more reading.

Those two are horribly dangerous too. I recommend you check out this book. It's been a total game changer for me. She offers a lot of great delayed vaccinating advice too.

We selectively delayed vax.

We did opt for the DTaP and waited on all others until after age 2.

Good luck with your decision, Lex

I have only read Dr. Sear's book so far, but the Hep B especially turned me off because of the high risk of side effects.

I will check that out for sure, thanks

You're most welcome. It's a very easy read, FULL of info. I actually used a highlighter and have pages tabbed for reference. It's really been enlightening for me

Both brands of the vaccine have an accidental virus from the monkey cells used. It's not known whether it'll have any effects on humans in the future, but a similar contamination many years ago (though in an injection, not oral solution) is now showing up in cancer cells.
They recalled one after it was discovered, but then found both that virus and another in the second brand. So instead of reformulating and removing the monkey virus, they kept them both on the market.
Landon received a contaminated dose in 2010, and I was never even notified. Even if nothing comes of it (the body can kick live viruses in the digestive tracts pretty casually), I don't like that I had to stumble upon that on my own, and that nothing was done to rectify the mistake.
My issue is more with the company than the ingredients, but I wouldn't be comfortable with unknowns going into such tiny bodies.
