A few nights ago my ex said when this baby is born he's going to file for custody and he'll win because he works and i'm on unemployment.

Well, a little less than two weeks after I lost my job, I not only got another job... I got two   well, hopefully, I have one for certain and i'm going through the hiring process at the other, but there shouldn't be any snags.

I'll be working both for as long as I can making nearly three timesas much as him, and then I'll be working the at home job up until I pop making $1/hr more than him.

  I literally cannot stop laughing.

Even if you didnt have the 2 jobs he still wouldnt win. They usually dont take kids away from their mothers unless they are like drug addicts and on the streets pretty much, or some other reason that they cant care for the kids.

Even if you didn't......He still wouldn't win on the basis that he has a job and you are on unemployment. Income is income.

I know. I just think it's smurfing hilarious that he's been strutting around the last two weeks acting like I sit around in my ass playing the system, and now i'm going to have to burst his smug little bubble

I wish that was always the case. Around here, whoever has money for the fancy lawyer of a judge pay-off gets the kid. My dad won custody of me and was never home and always doing things with random women in the house I shouldn't have been seeing at 4 years old. Hopefully that's not the case for you, OP. I'm sure a lot has changed since their divorce in 1995.

I want us to split custody 50/50. He'll be a good dad, he's just a smurfhead boyfriend.

But if he continues to threaten to take my child from me I will destroy him.
