re: Spanking

To each their own on discipline, but it's pretty pointless and damaging to do it to a baby.

I never said anything to her face about if. I have a firm belief that as long as your child is not in an extremely harmful situation I refuse to say anything about their choices as a parent. This was stimulated by seeing multiple memes on my Facebook about parents not spanking and having a world full of spoiled brats because of it.

Omg, two months old?! That's so sad.

There was one mama that popped her 7 month old in mouth when she was feeding him solids and he was spitting it out.
I can't imagine "spanking" my son now, and he's almost a year old.

Wow two months that is crazy. I am & was spanked & at times I was a splines brat.

that's a natural reflex they have and can't help  
poor baby. Even if I DID spank, i don't think i could ever do it under 12-18 months!

I think when u don't discipline your child is when their spoiled rotten idc how you do it as long as its effective and not abusive/excessive or cruel.

I do spank my DD... shes spoiled rotten lol.. but I know that she responds better when I take away her electronics and toys and tv... I try not to spank her much because I dont want her to be scared of me because she thinks im going to hit her.. I want her to be scared of me because she knows when she does wrong there are consequences for her wrong doings

No, I make my parenting choices as do others.

I have friends that spank and friends that don't.
I lose no sleep over others choices, nor do try to push my opinions on them

I just don't feel like they know enough right from wrong at this age to do that. Other than redirection and telling them no I'm not sure there is anything else I would do with DS at this point.

Exactly. He's a baby- he's exploring. I agree, spanking at this age is ridiculous.

My plan is.......The punishment will fit the crime. If DS runs out in the street when he knows he shouldn't, I'll spank him. If he throws a remote control at the wall or pours milk all over the carpet on purpose, there will be a different punishment.

It is possible to not spank and not have a spoiled child.

Whoever spanks a 2 month old shouldn't have children.

I don't think that NOT spanking your child leads to your child being spoiled. I believe that not disciplining your child at all leads to them becoming spoiled.
Spanking is a very touchy subject.
2 months old in my mind is WAY too young to be using spanking as a discipline technique. 2 month olds don't have a sense of right and wrong.

This was me... haha I would get spanked, not cry look dead at my mom and would roll my eyes... I was like 7ish   that's when she stopped spanking me and started taking crap away... that's when it really hurt me lol
