Giving someone condoms will not force anyone to go have sex

Actually studies have shown in schools where condoms are available to students, lower rates of sexual activity among its students.

So you still have a "Old school" view of No sex before marriage? That is cool, but it doesn't really work like that these days.

Oxytocin is released during childbirth, breastfeeding AND sex. Obviously, this applies to women only.

Neuroscientists have discovered that women bond at a hormonal level during all three of these events.

We aren't animals that act upon physical urges, only. We have the ability to reason. Sex doesn't have to by some animalistic urge that we, as humans, cannot control.

We don't eat our sick babies or leave them to die, either.

So if you are going by that logic the purpose of breastfeeding is for bonding? And the purpose of child birth is for bonding?

Because I am pretty sure the purpose of breastfeeding is to keep mammals alive until they can feed themselves. You CAN say the purpose of oxytocin during breastfeeding is to further the species (by making breastfeeding more appealing for mammals). Which is the same for the "bond" that happens during sex, it is to make reproduction more attractive. However the purpose remains reproduction,

Yup. I am "old school" about sex. I am currently a widow who is in an abstinent, semi-serious relationship. I will not have sex with anyone that I am not married to.

I realize that sex is a free for all, these days, but does that mean I shouldn't teach what I think is moral? Of course not.

You are negating emotion in all of your responses.

If your 16 year old unmarried daughter came to you and asked to be put in birth control because she was she was sexually active, would you take her to get birth control? Just curious.

Also, I said that I would teach both, in tandem. Realism is important, of course.

Science is pretty awesome like that. It focuses on reality, rather than emotion. The purpose of sex is reproduction. Humans would not be a successful species if the purpose of sex was to form a bond.

Duh. The sole purpose of breastfeeding is feeding your kid.

The abstinence thing doesn't work anymore. Years and years ago it did. I wish it worked now. But times have changed. Too much sex on TV and in songs. (I know, cliche.) And the demographic keeps getting younger. Sex education is more effective IMO.

I've said twice now that I would teach both.

Not sure what your question has to do with this debate...but yes, I would. By the time she's sixteen, she is making many of her own choices...and mistakes. I would want to protect her from herself.
