38 weeks, miserable and frustrated

Today I am so miserable! Started having contractions yesterday evening at around 5. They would get regular and then be irregular. Finally around 2 this morning they stopped completely. I got up at 7 to get my daughter ready for school and around 8:30 they started back up and are pretty painful but not regular. I just have this constant ache in my back and crotch. It feels like I have to poop really bad but I can't and every time I try it hurts my pelvis really bad. Last check on Tuesday I was 3 CM and 80% effaced and baby was engaged. I don't think I should go to the hospital yet because my contractions are not regular but I am so miserable feeling like I have to poop all day. LOL I am going to try to walk and see if I can get these things coming closer together.

Are you hurting in your back really bad? My best friend had back labor and never had contractions and was 8cm when she got to the hospital almost ready to have that baby. She only went because she 'felt funny' and sure enough, she was about to have a baby.

thats strange cuz im 37 weeks and my doc said if i go onto labor now they are not stopping it and they r going to let me have the baby idk y u cant go to the docs especially if your having contractions and my doc hasnt checked to see if i even dilated until next tues ... just hang in there your almost done  

Yes. I am hurting really bad and my contractions that I am noticing are very painful. They are just not regular. I was in the hospital at 32 weeks for pre term labor and was having similar pains so I am thinking maybe I should go. I just would hate for my SO to have to call in the other manager where he works so that he can leave and then have it just be pressure from the baby moving lower or something. It just concerns me that I feel like he is pushing down in my pelvis when I try to poop.

I think you should go in, thats exactly what was going on with me and I was afraid to go to the hospital because I thought they would send me home. I finally went in with still irregular contractions and was 5cm and they kept me, I kept dilating without regular contractions so they had to Augment my labor with Pitocin.

you could call the docs first and see what they say that way u dont have to worry about your SO.

I would do this but they moved my mid wife to a new clinic on me a few weeks ago and the one I have now is just a mess! I do not think I would trust her to treat a wound on my arm. LOL She had me in tears Tuesday because it took her 10 minutes to find my sons heart beat. I asked her to check lower and she got all nasty with me and said oh no no this baby is still sky high. I had an ultra sound at the hospital 20 minutes after that and was told my baby is engaged in my pelvis. I go to the hospital twice a week for non stress tests and they check my urine, blood pressure and everything that my clinic checks so I have actually decided to stop going to the clinic. Maybe I will call the triage nurse at the hospital and see what they say.
