marijuana and pregnancy

posted 6th Dec
before i got pregnant i was smoking pot for a couple months. i quit when i found out i was pregnant but i tested positive at my first OB visit. the dr said it was very low so it was almost out of my system. i am concerned about CPS. will they get involved after the baby is born even if myself and baby are clean? ive had a case with them yrs ago, so im considering myself a "red flag" for them. please help i am worried. and please facts and no rude opinions. thanaks

I'm sorry. I didn't realize they drug test you at the OB.... I have no idea if they have to report that but if you're clean from now until after baby is born, then I would think you'd be totally fine.

Nope I smoked up until 6 1/2 months pregnant and my OB just told me to make sure it was out by birth in case they tested me...which they didn't anyway.
But no CPS will not find out about that.

I would think they would if you admitted to smoking pot recently.

Isn't that why they ask those kinds ofquestions?

I don't think it will be an issue with CPS. A lot of women smoke before they find out they are pregnant, including myself. I smoked a lot of weed before I knew I was pregnant, I also told the OB that. They never said anything bad about it.

They might test the baby when he's born but if he comes out clean you shouldn't have an issue with CPS.

This is what I was wondering.
Since you tested positive then, they might drug test you at the birth. If you are free then, there should be no reason for CPS to get involved.

I smoked up til my bfp's and had no clue that this was done.

Odd, nothing was said to me about it
