re: marijuana and pregnancy

When i was living in NY at the time i tested positive for drugs but that was before i even knew i was preggo i was about 9 weeks when i got tested and 7 weeks when i found out i was preggo... moved to flint mi when i was about 14- 16 weeks and went to the docs here and my doctor pretty much told me this " you can do drugs if you still do them during your pregnancy ( which i wasnt) as long as you dont do them close to your due date" i looked at him like wtf this guy is a bad doctor thank god i switched any doctor telling a pregnant women they can do drugs throughout there pregnancy shouldnt be a doctor in the first place.

I've always been honest lol
I also told my OB I was going to smoke through my pregnancy and she told me to stop in time for it to get out of my system for delivery just in case. Hence why I ended up stopping at 6 1/2 months.
This time I'm smoking all the way through and hopefully during labor as well so my midwives need to know

I think so, because at the rate I was smoking, there was no possible way it was cleared from my system when I went for testing.

ok im pretty sure you are right about cps only getting involved if the baby test positive at birth. i just talked to a social worker and he said cps will only investigate during pregnancy if the dr reports the positive test and if the hospital reports that the baby has tested positive. im still going to talk to my dr about it at my next visit

I'm pretty sure that you have to sign a consent form, so you'd know if you got tested.

at my dr visit u have to sign a consent form for drug testing they said they have to drug test randomly for yours and babys health but with my last pregnancy i didnt sign it and they still drug tested me!

So if you smoke and plan to do a hospital delivery
you need to stop about a month before? How likely is it to be drug tested upon delivery if your OB hasn't ever tested you?
You obviously don't believe or haven't had any problems w/ your child due to usage during pregnancy, right?

every baby is drug tested at birth. if u r going to smoke during pregnancy u should give it 30-60 days to clean out yours and babys system. there r no birth defects from marijuana it just causes low birth wait and premature labor, just like cigarettes
