theres always a possibility to get pregnant no matter what you do to prevent it.

I had the Mirena for 2 years and no period the entire time. I did not get pregnant the whole time I had it though.

Same here for the three + years I had mine in. But, like any other birth control method (besides not havingt sex all together) it's not 100% fool proof.
