Have you given her tylenol or motrin yet?

Once you hit that 102 mark that is when it is time to go. Saying not to worry until it hits 105 is smurfing stupid.

No they can't. It does more damage quicker because it ravages their bodies quicker.

Besides which I never told the woman not to take her child in. I said call the regular Doctor first and if not go to Urgent Care if possible. Going on personal experience here, I took my 3 year old daughter to the ER with a temp of a little over 103 with severe vomiting and diarrhea and her Insurance didn't classify it as an Emergency. So I got the bill. THATS why I'm telling her to take the kid to Urgent Care.

okay cool that was how many years ago? like i said every doctor and nurse ive ever spoken to when cam has had a fever, usually doesnt want you to goto the er until it hits 104 if it wont go down with medicine or if the fever comes with other major concerning symptoms. if its just a 102 fever with nothing else then its not too alarming.

She's had tylenol...It was 102.3 and it's dropped to 102 even.

I would try pedilite and rotate between tylenol and advil
But if you feel strongly then go, atleast ease your mind. I dont think there is any correlation between the two. She probably caught a bug, im sure she did if shes running a temp. She just might feel more like crap. But you know her better.

Every doctor I have ever talked to said 102.3 and that is when you need to go in. If you stay at home until you hit a fever of 105 your child is going to be having some massive issues.. or dying.

I would go. If something is telling you that something is wrong I would take her in.

yes if its 102 plus the other things shes explaining then the er is the way to go. but if its just a fever, and you bring a child to the er just because they have a 102 fever theyre going to be thinking wtf. dont waste their time if its just a fever. theres lots you can do at home before you resort to that.

Give it a little while, while you wait on the doctor to call back. in 4-6 hours give her motrin/ibuprofen. The fever isn't the worry it's the listlessness and the vomiting that she needs to be seen for.

I know that. That is what I am going by this child is sick and already barely moving and someone is suggesting not taking her until it hits 105. That is stupid and irresponsible to say.

Fevers aren't a bad thing. They are your body trying to fight off an infection. What is bad is if it stays elevated for long. Even with a baby the temp you should START to be concerned with is 102.5.....
The dehydration would be a far worse concern than the fever at this point. If she continues to not be able to keep anything down and you see signs of clear dehydration (dry mucus membranes, weak pulse) then I would take her in.

They fever/vomitting with the nose bleed and fatigue are probably unrelated. She could have a blood disorder so I would mention that to the doctor.
