Have you tried laying with her and rocking her gently/patting her bum while shushing her? Thats the only way both my 7 month old daughter and my now 8 yr old nephew would ever nap for me. I was shushing my nephew until he was almost 3 to take naps!

She's 14 months, she will sleep when she's tired I wouldn't force a nap at all. My 13 month sometimes doesn't nap, and sometimes she'll take 2...it just depends. Bring your LO outside and give them lots of stimulation and thungs to do to try and tire them out

So what does she do when you put her in her crib and shut the door? does she just cry?

Maybe shes just not tired? If she is and shes just fighting it, try to get her in a nice little routine. Like a specific place with a specific blanket. Maybe a teddy bear, read her a book and make sure its quiet in your house. Or u could also play some lullabies.

agree with this. a routine is great to have. we also use a white noise machine. . My son has to have his pacifier and his blanket as well, and i dont lay him down until he starts rubbing his eyes.

That sounds good, like a little calm down time before nap. I think swaddling is more for newborns/young infants. Trying to do that probably makes her more mad than anything at the age she is now. Also since your not against crying it out i would suggest slowly extending the intervals that you check on her. If shes know ur just gonna come back in 10 minutes she might keep up the crying longer.
