Money question about a cruise

My SO and I are going on a cruise in mid-January to Key West and two stops in the Bahamas. We are not doing any of the excursions because my husband is self-conscious about being "too big". For swimming with dolphins we would have to wear wetsuits, for the amusement park hes afraid he wont fit on rides, etc. So basically, I think we are just going to walk the shopping area and do things on the ship itself. My question is...how much money should we take to have a good time? I want to make sure we have a good time without going too overboard. I was thinking $1,000-2,000?

I think that sounds like enough since you don't plan any major excursions. Also, if you drink keep that in mind because you pay for that (on the ship). When I went I had a tab of $500 already ran up in liquor before the first stop   But I realize not everyone drinks like I do, lol. Anyway, how exciting! I hate your Husband is so worried though.
