Nannies often have degrees in child care and several other exemplary qualifications.

ya definitely, but if i got someone to babysit and they weren't certified in everything you are and i wouldn't pay them as much as i would say pay you. It's like when you were a different job and you start at a certain amount and as your experience there goes up your pay goes up that's just how i see it. Less experienced less pay.

Yea.. when I used to nanny I'd make $400-$600 a week depending on the number of kids... $400 was for 1 child (2) they also included zoo and museum passes for both me and the child and paid back my gas expenses. $600 was for when they had their 2nd I watched him from pretty much the day they brought him home from the hospital (the mom had a really hard recovery time and he had colic so when I was there during the day I would take care of both boys and she would sleep) They also brought me on a few family trips, paid for my flights/ brought me in their car/ paid for gas for me and my friend. Paid for my hotel, tickets to the theme parks (we went to disneyland once) and food and even told me to invite a friend once (I only did twice and that was for the driving trips... I didn't want to bring a friend on the trip to hawaii or to London because I knew they'd offer to pay for them too and that's another HUGE expense to burden them with) and they'd continue to pay me my normal wages (often more if I was watching the kids later/ earlier/ longer so that they could do their own thing) I LOVED this family and totally became a part of their family. They sadly moved to Colorado after their littlest was 2 after working for them for just shy of 5 years (but this was when I was contemplating moving for school anyways so it worked out) but they were the greatest.. wish I could find a job that great down here.. but it's a less wealthy area... and now I have my LO to watch too.
