40wks & still NO sign of labor!

Hi BG mama's!

So I'm 40wks + 5days pregnant with my second daughter and still have no sign labours coming. I know each pregnancy is different, but I really thought she would be here by now. With my first, Aurora Rose, came along at 38wks 2 days. My water broke at 9am and had her by 1.48pm that afternoon  

I've been contracting on and off for 2wks now and only once thought I was in active labour. I'm guessing like my first I just need to wait for my waters to break...

Is there any little signs that I should be looking out for, or can do to speed things up? I've tried it all except castor oil - staying away from it. I walk up our stairs a million times a day, I have a 15month old that I'm constantly waddling around after, walks, shopping centres, spicy food, sex, blaaah everything!

I've been feeling mega tired all day yesterday and today, other then that no signs! >.<

My doctor told me about primrose oil. You can buy it in capsules, and you can take it like a normal tablet, or apparently (not too sure about this, nee to research) you can insert them into your vagina as far as you can, and they are suppose to help soften your cervix.

Can't believe you are due already :O I have no advice as I never got that far or ever went into labour naturally, but good luck. It will be any day now

Unfortunately no matter what you try, baby's not coming till he/she is ready. My DD was born at 40weeks 5days. The day before my induction date I went to to labor. I was actually at the beach playing in the ocean when I got my first contraction. Had her the next day. Hopefully you LO wont bake too much longer..

ahhh!!! i did that with my second child, however I was 39 weeks and had my first at 38 weeks, with my first my water broke on its own and like you it was a fast labor............ with my second my water did not break on its own and i thought the same thing..... when i did suspect i was in labor the contractions were light but they started getting stronger and more in patterns..... but i couldnt believe that once i went in i was already 5 cms!! and they had to break the water for me..... so dont wait around for your water to break because sometimes it doesn't break on it's own....lol and thats what i did and i was in labor and didnt even know it LOL  

  there's really not much else you can do. Has your OB swept your membranes?? I've been trying a few things (sex,squats,spicy food) not much is doing anything. I had my membranes swept yesterday & am in some pain today so I'm hoping it actually stirred things up. Good luck, though Mama!! I hope you progress fast & soon. Nothing more frustrating than seeing your EDD come & go   (My first was born at 41 weeks, 3 days)

I just went through this a week ago. I was 40w 6d. I was having contractions all day but not very consistent so I didn't think anything of it. I also didn't know what to expect cuz with my first my water broke but then I was in labor for another 16 hrs. With the triplets I went into preterm labor. So when I finally decided to go to the hospital with this one I was in so much pain and was convinced I was going to have him in the triage room. Before I even got the epidural I felt like I had to push and during one of the times I was pushing I broke my water. After only being at the hospital for 3 hrs I had my ds.

Pineapple! I was 9 days overdue. And once I ate a while thing of pineapple I got contractions that night and had her within 24 hours
