name change for daughter
posted 6th Dec
My daughter is 3months 2 weeks when she was born on her birthcertificate we put my last name first then her dads at the end because im not married to him and didnt know where we would be eventually we are having problems! i wanted to find out if theres a way i can remove his lastname and leave mine... right now she has 2 last names?
and which last name is considered the first one for example if my last name was Smith and his Jones and on her birth certificate we put Smith Jones legally which one is first?

Pretty sure you have to change it through a court. And I'm assuming that if you put smith first then smith is first...

A friend of mine has both of her parents last names too and she just uses the first one.. I don't think it really matters.
