I wouldn't go through a pregnancy just to hand the baby over for free. Good for her if she made some money off of it.

I think it depends on how she went about it.
Some surrogets will simply use thier egg and the Chosen fathers sperm, and some may want thier egg used and or donor sperm.

I've always heard it bein the other woman's egg with that woman's SO sprem. And all the 2nd lady did was carry the baby basically.

I thought it originally went thay way as well, But someone else had informed me it may go either way.
(I guess for women who don't produce eggs or doesn't want one removed?)

There is traditional surrogacy and gestational surrogacy. Traditional it is the surrogate's biological child.

maybe the part can be legal and the 10k under the table type smurf idk because it doesn't sound illegal just odd that she got 10k on top of all the other stuff they did

Exactly. Anyone that can just sell their child doen't need to parent them at all. Hopefully those babies are goin to good people and not some random strangers that were just willing to pay money...

If its legal then oh well. She made 10K,,,I would rather someone like her sell her child to a good family then keep her child and abuse it and the system. More women need to be like her  

State laws determine what financial exchange can occur. Some states are more liberal than others regarding what is allowable.
In some states I believe money can be given to the mom for upgraded lifestyle items like warrdrobe, massages, better food items. I dont think any would allow a big check to be written just as compensation. I think it has to be at least linked to an expesne or anticipated expense. BUT, some states are more strict than others.
Regarding the ethics of it, I think it's fine and i dont see who can be harmed by it.
