Some of you that follow my posts know that I have a smurfload of medical problems going on. Im always hurting.
Well today was Lily's 9th birthday. She made a wish on her cake (a fruit tart cake, thats what she wanted!) and when I walked out of the room to get plates my Mom said "What did you wish for?" And she said "I cant say it because then it wont come true." Then my Mom said "It can still come true, but you dont have to tell me."
My precious child said "I wished for Mommy to feel better so she doesn't hurt all the time." My Mom said "Dont say anything though because she doesnt want anyone else to know in case it won't come true." A 9 year old usually wishes on something for selfish reasons... she only wishes for me to get better.
And the kicker? We bought the fruit tart today. We didnt notice until we got home, AFTER Lily blew out the candles that the smurfing raspberries had mold on it. Lily LOST it. I told her "Dont worry, the stupid store sold bad food (its within the code date too) it's not any of our faults. We will go and get a new one right now." She lost it, and told my Mom that she thought her wish wouldn't come true now. I almost started crying, but instead I just told Lily (acting like I didnt know what she said) that her wish was made and it didnt matter what cake we had, her wish would come true. She looked content then.
But damn.... I have a wonderful child. I really do!
