YOU BIG BABY !

posted 5th Dec
30 Weeks, 3 days and going strong HOLLAAA  . So today I had my lovely maternity check up. My doctor took out the old measuring tape, measured my big belly same as usual. He asked how tall I was, I replied "4'11" and he asked how tall my baby daddy is "6'2". So unfortunately for me, my torso is only as long as like one of my hands pinky on my hip bone top of the thumb reaches the boob. Dr.Wong then explained to me that more than likely I wont be able to go full term and we will have to get the baby out early or get a C-section since hes growing to big for my bod. WE'LL SEE I GUESS

That's a really stupid reason for a c section.
Your body will not make a baby too big for you to deliver.

Really he's going to induce you early or give you a c-section? Small women give birth to big babies all the time.

i had the same problem she has. i was soo freaking big he couldnt go anywhere. i still tried for vaginal. 39 hours of labor later i had to get rushed in for an emergency csection because he got stuck and his heart rate was dropping. turns out he wass 10lb 12oz. . apparently my body didnt get that memo.

I know a woman your size who delivered a 10 pound baby with no complications... so.... that's bullsmurf. Falling to medical traps set by insurance companies. There are millions of small women who give birth to very large babies with no problems.

Honestly if small women had such a hard time delivering babies naturally we would all have died out long ago. I'm almost as short as you I have birth just fine. It took me 27 hours but I was determined to push her out to show my doctor that short women can in fact deliver a baby.

Your height doesn't really play a factor on whether or not you're able to deliver vaginally, I'm pretty sure. My dad remarried and his wife gave birth vaginally twice. My dad is 6'2''. His wife? 4'7''. She is a tiny little thing. I am average height (5'5'') but have a short torso due to scoliosis. My son was in the 95th percentile for length (21 1/4 inches) and I had him without a c-section. He was all kinds of squished in there but was perfectly fine and even with my scoliosis I was rarely THAT uncomfortable the entire pregnancy. Deciding to have a c-section for reasons like that...no way. I am so happy I never had to experience one!

I'm short and I delivered vaginally. I was told i was all baby at my appt on Monday and measuring 2 weeks ahead. Everyone I know and even strangers were saying he was gonna be like 8pounds. (Might have been if I had made it to my due date). He was 6pounds, 6oz, 19in.

Hopefully he won't be to big and you'll be fine.   good luck!

I get the same reaction from family, and I haven't seen my original OB since I was like 15 weeks. I keep getting flopped around I'd really like to talk about a birthing plan. I'm glad to see all these women having been small, and going through with VB. Instead of being forced into a c-Section. SO and I have talked about it. And whatever I have to, to get my Lily out safe, and healthy. But I'm glad I stumbled across this post. I was getting worried about my size. Does being narrow have anything to do with it. I have wide hips, but they're still very close together, making my narrow inside. Always told I had birthing hips until I had an x-ray a few years back.
