Nope its not the facility policy nor his, apparently until now that I have to get the vaccine. I never signed anything saying that I would get it during flu season etc.

If it is not a written policy then don't worry about it. In order for them to legally enforce it, it has to be a policy or in legal writing. If things like this could be made up on the spot it would be chaos. Try not to stress too much. Dr sounds like d-bad with an inflated ego.

Would it have mattered if it's the only job you were offered? Find another job if you really feel that strongly against it. Obviously, he's going to ask you to do it again next year, and the year after.

And you don't really seem too informed on the flu vaccine, honestly. It's actually the World Health Organization that determines what strain(s) is likely to hit what areas. It's not a mixture of mystery cocktails, like you describe. It's very easy to look up what's included in the injection.

Yeah thats why Im trying not to stress but it sounds like Im going to have to make a decision rather quick. He told me he will talk to his doctor to see if I have to get it and if he says yes than I must. Who the hell is HIS doctor to tell me what I have to do with my body. Its annoying.

No it would not have mattered. And actually Im very informed on annual flu vaccines and others thank you. Please dont expect the CDC and WHO to list every single ingredient that goes into this vaccines and others because they dont. They tell you the common ones you can easily google to have a peace of mind and go get the vaccine thinking its completely safe.

He can't legally terminate you just due to you not wanting to get a flu shot (I got mine and I was 13 weeks pregnant and my baby boy is still perfectly normal & healthy) my Obstetrician told me to wait until after your 12 weeks along before you get one. It's still up to you though. I'm a first time mom but I'm being just as cautious, as long as my doctor says it's okay I'll do it though. Plus it would be nice to protect you and the baby, since pregnancy also lowers your immune system from working as efficiently. Good luck with everything!

Any way he would let you wear a mask if you were not feeling well? I work for a hospital and they ask that we all get flu shots for our own protection. We have a sticker that is put on our name badge and if we decline the shot, we just have to sign a wavier and then wear a mask when flu risk is high. I had a flu shot because I have never had a problem with them in the past. For me personally, I was getting every virus that was going around until I got the flu shot. I have not been sick since. It may be a coincidence, but I also talked to my doctor in dept about it before I received the shot. Maybe try asking about the mask and maybe he will find that an acceptable solution.

On a random note...you and I are due 4 days apart. So like I said your baby will be fine. Have you found out what it is yet, or are you wanting it to be a surprise?? I just found out I'm having a boy this morning.   It was amazing to be able to see how developed the baby is on the ultrasound screen. He didn't mind showing us his "gonads" either haha. I'm due May 19th but the ultrasounds show he's growing fast and I'm 2 weeks further along by his size, which might push my due date to around May 2nd. I expect to carry full term though.

Thank you. Im just trying not to stress out over this crap. lol. Awww congrats! No we dont know yet. My due date was actually changed this morning from May 15th to May 24th which Im so bummed about because now we cant find out right before Christmas like we planned. My baby measured smaller on my very first ultrasound so they say its more accurate. I cant wait to see how much s/he has grown. I have a hunch its a boy though. Thats awesome. My plan is to carry full term as well.

I'm due May 17 and my OB refused to do an U/S until 20 weeks. My next appointment is at 19wks 5days. I still have not decided if I want to know the sex or not.
