I agree with this. My sister in law also works at a Dr's office and was forced to get the flu shot this year. Something about the office having to pay more for insurance if all employees did not get one. I think it is ridiculous the way government and large corporations are working harder and harder to control everyone and take away even the simplest rights like deciding for yourself whether or not to have a vaccine.

A lot of women get it during pregnancy and there are no immediate effects. What about long term? No one knows. Not be rude but why should I care about him if he clearly doesnt care about me and my baby? He is a doctor working with SICK patients. If he wants to protect himself, he needs to live in a bubble until he gets off the meds. He cant avoid being exposed.

Yes I get that but clearly he doesnt care about my concerns and he cannot avoid exposing himself working in a hospital and office with sick patients. It doesnt make sense to me.

Every time I've gotten the flu shot it's made me incredibly ill. Then again, even Gardisil made me incredibly sick.

That being said, the short term effects of the flu shot WON'T hurt you or the baby.

However, vaccinations for yearly things like that only strengthen the virus strains. They evolve quickly out of a need to survive.

I don't agree with those vaccinations, and if he's THAT worried about getting sick, then he should take a leave while he's on that medication.

My aunt has worked in a pediatric unit, and you're exposed to more viral infections there than on any other floor according to her.

Wow! Quite honestly I could care less if he has to pay more. I get no benefits or medical leave as it is. I will NOT be stripped of my rights in this situation.

How do they strengthen the virus strands?

I have worked in hospitals that required us to get the flu shot...especially in peds. If you are working directly under him and that is one of his policies then he can terminate you, if it is one of the facilities policies then he can terminate you. They actually encourage pregnant women to get the flu shot.

Those type of medications are life long. He's probably had an organ transplant, or some kind of autoimmune disease. You can't expect him to live in a bubble, he still needs to live his life.

Like I said, they evolve out of a need to survive. A lot of illnesses have been prevented through vaccinating, but they will never get rid of the flu. There are too many strains of it, too many they don't even know of. It's like trying to cure the common cold.

Yeah everyone has a different reaction to vaccines including the flu shot. I contracted the "DEADLY" swine flu when it first broke out and I was perfectly fine. I thought it was just a cold. Have not got sick since. The vaccine is a guess of what strains may be stronger. Theres no sure way to know. Im not going to inject myself with something that the very people that made it are unsure of.

I'm glad you and your baby are ok but everyone has a different reaction and I cant put my trust in someone else's cocktail of drugs to better my chances of not getting the flu.

Yeah but it would protect against the strands in the vaccination... even some protection is better than nothing.

ALOT of illness have been prevented through vaccination. But more and more parents are choosing not to vaccinate which will most likely lead to us seeing those illnesses again :-/
