Because it's cheating. If they aren't allowed to have warmed up food prior to purchase.. (which the microwave in my store has a very big sign saying nobody can use it if buying food with EBT).. why would they be able to afterwards?

Which is crazy because Redbull is more expensive. At least here it is anyway. I haven't bought energy drinks in Ohio in 5+ years. Lol

You get them every month, it's not like you have to save them... There are some things that are just not as good when you buy the generic! Like Raisin Bran! It's just not the same...

Maybe it changed since I had them, my mom had them at the same time and tried to buy energy drinks and couldn't with food stamps. Tried at numerous stores. She's an addicted to them. This was yeaaaars ago though

I ate so healthy when I was on FS. I mean the stuff I bought was a lot more expensive but it was so much better for me. Like I'd rather pay $5 for a pack of 2 good pork chops than $4 for a nasty frozen pizza.

That whole explanation is a crock anyway. When I was on FS, I worked 60 hours a week and paid my taxes. But I needed help with either food or daycare. So I chose food stamps.

I'm all for FS if the people need it. But what pisses me off SO bad... is when people treat it as a luxury. As in... buying numerous packs of pop, buying expensive coffee, buying ice cream and milkshakes (they can get those on EBT at my work).... but I can't afford that smurf with my own money, why can someone buy it when they aren't actually paying for their food?


Smurf, I'd like to be able to spend $15 on milkshakes, or $20 on a few cases of pop... but I can't do that smurf all the time   Though... people on FS seem to be doing it quite often. How the HELL is that fair?

By OUR tax money. It's going to be sad when the food stamp budget is going to be cut like they are saying after the first of the year. Maybe then people will actually start budgeting their welfare.
