Quoting TheNuge:" Very scary. I'm really hoping that Asaad is doing this as leverage to get asylum and that he is not ... [snip!] ... otherwise), a stable country needs to get in there and grab the chemical weapons so they dont end up with Al Qaeda or similar."
Quoting khigh:" Oh no, I'm a huge fan of Israel. I'm talking about the Islamist countries (Iran, Syria, Libya, Egypt, etc). If only we could figure out how to do this: "
Quoting MysticWitchKat:" A lot of those countries like jordan, oman, and kuwait are very moderate countries though. I also would not like to see the death of sites of antiquity."
Quoting khigh:" Oh, I know. I'm hoping to go to Kuwait sometime next year. I have a problem with some of the countries ... [snip!] ... countries that are "blown up" that I really like. There are only two that I want the entire place wiped out: Pakistan and Iran."Eygpt and libya remain to be seen how they will turn out. Morsi's life expectancy doesn't look too good as it is anyway lol.
Quoting khigh:" He's been offered asylum in Saudi Arabia, Ecuador, Cuba, and his foreign policy minister is supposedly ... [snip!] ... in London. Assad wants to go to a country with no extradition because we are now saying that we want him held accountable."
Quoting MysticWitchKat:" Eygpt and libya remain to be seen how they will turn out. Morsi's life expectancy doesn't look too good as it is anyway lol."
Quoting khigh:" Oh, no. He's got 100,000 people up his ass waiting to burn him out of the palace. He should have realized what would happen after what they did to Mubarak."
Quoting khigh:" Oh, no. He's got 100,000 people up his ass waiting to burn him out of the palace. He should have realized what would happen after what they did to Mubarak."
Quoting MysticWitchKat:" I always wonder why so many places have such issues implementing democracy, when others have no problems with it."
Quoting TheNuge:" It's an interesting topic... and certainly NOT one for the politically correct."
Quoting MysticWitchKat:" ?"
Quoting khigh:" Because of people like me. I don't think radical Islamists can have a democracy. Sharia law is not able ... [snip!] ... and will never be able to peacefully rule themselves as long as they are following the Muslim Brotherhood and radical Islam."
Quoting TheNuge:" lol. yes, in great part. I think other cultures are also not likely to adopt democracy"
Quoting khigh:" It's going to be very interesting heading into Pakistan with the way I feel about them. At least I have ... [snip!] ... about them. At least I have a Pakistani male guide instead of an Indian one. Still...I can see myself getting beheaded on TV."
Quoting khigh:" Because of people like me. I don't think radical Islamists can have a democracy. Sharia law is not able ... [snip!] ... and will never be able to peacefully rule themselves as long as they are following the Muslim Brotherhood and radical Islam."Well I mean in general, even in places without religion. Some places seem to be able to do it, and others seem to have issues.
