Infant Toothpaste

What brand do you use? What age did you start?

Right now Logan has 4 teeth - two are completely up, the other two are about a 1/4 of the way there. Right now, we're brushing with water and a finger brush before bedtime.

I started right after his teeth come in. I just use a small kid's toothbrush and toothpaste, I don't remember what it is.

Sensadyne Pronamel kids. You should be brushing with a flouride toothpaste. An infant would have to swallow 10 tubes worth of toothpaste for it to hurt them.

Think he's ready at nearly 7 months?

My mom seems to think otherwise

His multivitamin has fluoride in it.

Think that'll be fluoride overload?

The ADA does not recommend it until after 2 years old. There is fluoride in multi vitamins as well as water supplies. It is not necessary.

If he has a tooth, it needs to be brushed, regardless of age.

We brush. We've just yet to use toothpaste. Just a fingerbrush and water thus far.

Mine son got his first teeth at 4 months and his doctor specifically said not to ever use a flouride toothpaste. We use Grins and Giggles flouride free with a baby tooth brush. His doctor told us to just use water to brush them with if we wanted to.

Just said swallowing fluoride was really dangerous.
