Beginning to plan.

posted 5th Dec
Still keeping it gender neutral until we CONFIRM that its a girl, but I'm trying to think of things I need for this baby because I know its not much:

things I need so far;
Baby carrier---Ergo?
Baby wrap ---Sling? Moby?
Diaper bag.
Bedding set---may sew my own.
Baby food-making supplies---suggestions?
Aiden and Anise blankets
Anything hand-made (I have a lot of crafty friends).
Diono Radian RXT---I swear by this carseat.
Jumperoo/Activity Center so I can occupy baby to do chores?
Clothes IF its a girl
Nursing Bras---which I probably need to buy for myself to guarantee fit
Breastmilk Storage Bags
A bottle or two---I THINK I gave mine away
An awesome pump (Medela?)

Things I DONT need:
warm blankets (I crochet/knit & already have a few neutral ones)
swing/bouncer
crib & other furniture
Diapers/wipes/breastpads. I cloth everything.
Baby bath & towels & washcloths
Mobile
Baby Gate---I have all I need, I THINK.

Any other suggestions for a 2nd baby?

You don't NEED anything to make baby food besides normal kitchen supplies.   or you can do baby led weaning   even easier!!

I like my bebe food processor by Hamilton beach. I would get tons of the dr. Brown baby food storage pods. I love them. Freezer safe.

I dont use my electric pump. Don't bother with one. I can do a much quicker and more effective job with the medela hand pump. The electric pumps are inconvenient, loud and aren't as natural feeling. I have a hard time with them and many moms have told me they have had the same experience.

I don't have any kitchen supplies to purée or store small amoints of foods. And I plan to do a modified version of BLW like i did with my oldest (which SHOULD be called baby led solids as my kid ate full meals of solid adult foods a YEAR before he even began weaning). I like to do some purées especially for when we're out of the house and its easier to transport and clean up. Plus DS had bad reflux and needed solids to keep breast milk down, so I'd rather make my own than use nutrient deficient boxes cereals. It's not something ill do every day or anything, just something to have that's fast and easy when I'm in a rush because I can make ahead.

I just steamed boiled or baked the food. Then put it In a Regular blender or used a mixer or a Long stem cup to mash it.

I have severely inverted nips and hand expressing and manual pumps do NOTHING for me. At all. I've tried several brands with zero success. This time in going to try a double electric and see if it helps.

Maybe I'll get an immersion blender and I can use it for soups too   dual purpose is my favorite! I have a blender, but I suspect it may die!

Wanna try my Medela before you spend tons of money on your own? How'd you pump before I know you made buckets.

I've heard great things about ring slings. There's a store down here that actually sells them and has a bunch you can try. I wanna take Jordyn one day in Jan and try a few.

Sure, I'll give it a shot, but no nipple stim til 36+ weeks, so I'll just deal with all that later.

I have no idea. It's military insurance, so I HIGHLY doubt it.

Usually only PPOs do. You might get approved if you have a premie. But I'm hoping neither one of you have to deal with that!
