baby shower after baby is born

Well I am 30weeks pregnant and my mother is going to give me a baby shower after the babies born and idk if i should wait that long. I don't have anything except a swing, car seat, some baby cloths ,a bassinet and a stroller.. Should I wait or ask to have it sooner?? I'm due is February 10th...

I would have it sooner i wouldnt want all those people over at the same time wanting to touch my brand new baby. And you'll want to have everything ready and washed by the time baby is here.

I would not be okay with that. I'm already overly paranoid about people getting ME sick I don't want germy people around my newborn. Mine is this weekend.

I didn't have one with my first, was going to wait until she was born, and I'm glad I didn't because she passed away after birth

My second I didn't have one until she was out of the NICU but if she weren't born early we still would have waited until she was born. I had it November and she was born in July. She was home from the NICU for a month by then. Everyone wanted to meet the baby.

Honestly you don't need much more than what you have.

My sister is having mine after I have baby. I wanted it that way because all my friends are spread out over two provinces so I want everyone to be able to meet the baby with them all being so far away.
