5 Weeks 1 day bleeding?
posted 5th Dec
People have proly asked this 1,000 times but when I went to the bathroom I noticed a little bit of brown discharge, well enough for me to go to the bathroom and check, and I got nervous so I put on a tampon for a few seconds to see if there is anything up there and pulled it out and there was some blood on there. Not enough for a period but enough to freak me out! I have slight cramps but the same ones I have been having for a while nothing that seems intense
Should I just go to the hospital or how long should I wait?

Id wait, brown blood is old blood. Good luck!

I wouldn't go to the hospital as there's nothing they can do. Call your doctor in the morning. Hope all is well.

If it isn't more than one pad an hour I wouldn't go in. You also shouldn't be using tampons while pregnant only pads.

Dont ever put a tampon in while pregnant, sound like old blood. Normal

Only worry if the blood turns bright red and alot.

fist off, you should never use tampons when you are pregnant, you dont want to cause an infection along with other problems..
2. brown blood is usually old blood, and you could just be having implantation bleeding. but i also started spotting brown at 6 weeks with my 3rd and it continuted on and off for a while and i had an ultrasound at 9 weeks that showed i had a subchorionic hematoma

I never experienced any bleeding or spotting, not even implantation bleeding, but I had plenty of cramps which I was told were normal. At my first appointment at 6 weeks I ask my dr what I should watch for, and he said the only time to worry and call would be if I see bright red blood with a flow like a period. Brown blood/discharge is old blood, which can be normal. Don't put anything else up there tho, like that tampon. If you are worried at this point, I would put on a good ol' fashioned pad and if you soak it within an hour, you should call your OB. Unofrtunatley, going to the ER this early they would just tell you what you don't want to hear, give you and u/s to see what's going on, but if you do miscarry they can't do a thing to stop it. Hope this helps hun.

brown blood is old blood. I wouldn't worry unless it get's worse and/or you start cramping. I spotted with both of mine
nothing they can do at this point. so just drink some water, put your feet up and try not to stress.

2nd off there was only brown blood on there and a smear of red
Thanks guys for the reassurance, I am going to stay positive, a positive attitude has got me this far...

Not true. Not trying to scare the OP, but all of my miscarriages started with brown spotting. Brown blood isn't always innocent.
