Quoting Megan Keyser:" It's just that the little stuff I need adds up. I've bought a lot of clothing here and there, mostly ... [snip!] ... situation. I don't expect people to feel sorry for me, but it will take some time to recover from draining our savings.
Quoting Megan Keyser:" If my hubby threw it though, the people who are calling me tacky would probably still call me tacky. Oh well, I guess I need to grow a thicker skin and not worry about it. "If he threw it it would be laid back, comfy, no games or nonsense, just friends and whatever family you want, good food and conversation, and a celebration of the new bebe. You wouldn't need decor unless you wanted it, and it could just be really relaxed and fun. On the casual invite you could even put what you really need the most and have everyone bring a small dish and gift for the the new baby instead of listing the gift as being for YOU. I think that would eliminate the issue of whether or not people would think you were tacky. I actually have an issue of fit pregnancy magazine and they talk about how couples are opting for this kind of shower and celebration instead of the traditional baby shower. Plus, it gives dad a chance to feel celebrated as well, which isn't very common.
Go for it throw a shower if no one is doing it for you just do it you deserve to have one !Quoting Megan Keyser:" My best friend lives hundreds of miles away, and she was my only really close girlfriend, I don't really ... [snip!] ... how throwing a party for my unborn child is any different from throwing a birthday party for my three year old. Thoughts? "
