School question. GPA, transcript

Which one looks worse on a college transcript?
Fail
Withdraw/Fail

I had a bit of a mental breakdown and I know I'm going to fail Spanish. Like no point in taking my final, know I'm going to fail. So yeah, should I just fail or withdraw before finals?

Definently withdrawal if you still can.

Are you planning on not trying again?
From what I understand you can always try again another semester and that grade will replace the old one.

Ask an adviser. It really depends on your history.
To graduate you need a certain percent completion rate (no withdraw, complete the course and fail but you still get completion but it affects your GPA)
But if you have not ever withdrawn from a course before it could be ok because it shouldn't affect your GPA in that case but it would affect your completion rate.

I plan on it but not any time soon. I think either way if I try again it'll replace the old grade. Even if I withdraw.

I still can. It'll just be a WF instead of W. I already withdrew from one class this semester but it was before midterm so I got a W.

Yeah that's why I was asking. So it basically doesn't matter what you do. If you withdraw don't you get some money back though?

Hmm. Thank you. I've spoken to my counselor about it and she said if there's no way I'll pass I should just withdraw but I don't know which would affect my SAP and GPA more negatively. I know they're both bad. I suuuucked this semester

That's good. Do you have any financial aid or something similar that will be effected of you fail? That would be something to consider

If I dropped during add/drop I would but withdraw no. I mean finals are next week so definitely not getting money back. I think it costs more for me to withdraw because the class is already paid for, but I mean failing the class is the same thing to me. I basically withdrew without making it official.

I have financial aid. I'm hoping my other grades balance out the fail. Or that I'll just be put on warning status. If worst came to worst I could appeal it because of the reason my grades fell and I've been seeing a counselor/psychiatrist through the school and put on medication and they'd vouch for me.

Withdraw. I took a withdraw instead of a F. It was my only one though.

How many F's and withdraws do you have? I ask b/c if you have too many W's, it would look bad.
