Breastfeeding

I had my daughter on the 1st, I've been dead set on bottle feeding & that's the way I've been feeding her, but now I'm wanting to try breastfeeding, but have no clue on anything about it. Where could I get info on this?

Does the hospital you gave birth at have a lactation consultant? That's where I'd go for some info..

You can also find videos on youtube to refresh your memory on positions and tips etc but best is to find a lactation consultant. If you cant find one look up your local midwives, often they are able to help and they are usually sooo sweet and understanding!!

I've already went through the engorgement, is it too late to even start trying now?

You will probably have to work your supply up but there are herbal suppliments to help with that. Let your baby nurse as much as possible, that is how your supply is built up. Mothers who nurse let their baby nurse on demand.

Someone told me the best time to try was when your engorged... so I attempted it a few times but got discouraged because she eventually pulled away... I'm guessing because she wasn't getting anything.

That might be why she pulled away. You will have to be determined if you want to breast feed (one of the best things you could ever do for your child). I believe pumping helps, too.
But like I said, contact an LC (lactation consultant) and they will help you a lot.
