Help me pick a craft.

posted 5th Dec
I'll be hosting a homeschool co-op next week for the first time. Each mom who hosts is responsible for planning the activity. I am very nervous about it. I'd like to do some kind of keepsake craft, something that will really be cute. I do have a budget of what I can buy, but here are some of my ideas so far..what do you think?
I also need to find some kind of book, or educational activity to go along with these.

A.)
Let them make Christmas trees out of these, if I can find them in the stores.

B.)
A more simple pom pom ornament.

I'll have 6 children to buy for, ages 2-7 years old. Any others ideas are welcome. I'm so nervous to host this. This week another mom is hosting, and we're reading the Polar Express, doing an activity sheet, and then making our own trains out of graham crackers/icing/etc.

I did this 2 days ago with DD

Melt crayons into Christmas ornaments

I put glitter on the bottom of the molds, added the crayons. In the oven at 250 for 10 minutes, more glitter on top, let them cool.

The ornaments will not be glass, just to throw that out there. No way I'd trust my 2 year old with a glass ball.

I thought about these. We recently made some with my kids, and they took FOREVER to dry. I'm not sure I want to risk them taking 5 hours to dry and having nothing for them to paint/etc.

They're so awesome. But I did a small layer of crayons so they're fragile. I'd recommend using more crayons to make it thicker.
