RH INCOMPATIBILITY

posted 5th Dec
I AM 10 WEEKS AND FOUND OUT THAT ME AND THE BABY ARE RH INCOMPATIBLE. ( THE BABY'S BLOOD TYE IS + AND MINE IS -) I AM HAVING A VERY HARD TIME WITH THIS. IT IS CAUSING ME TO BLEED AND THE DR IS GOING TO DO A SONO TODAY TO MAKE SURE THE LITTLE SUGAR IS STILL OK. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT HAS THIS ISSUE?

Please don't type in caps.

Has your doctor talked to you about the Rhogam shot? That is what they usually do.

I hope that everything is okay with your LO. Good luck.

Did you get the shot?

That is what I was told that they usually do it if there is incompatibility. Just wondering.

You just need to get Rogain (spelling anyone?) shot at around 28 weeks then again once baby is born.

Nope. No shot at all lol I didn't even know his blood type until he was born. I didn't have problems during the pregnancy but I remember bleeding at 9 weeks & passing a clot. Nothing after that though. All tests came back fine too. Btw congrats on being pregnant!

I just did a bit of research. Lol. So you didn't get one afterwards either? I was just reading that one should at least be given after birth. Obviously, I don't know too much about it though. Lol.

And thank you!

I just said something because some people on here will not even read a post if it is in all caps. Others will be rude.

I have heard bleeding can be common. Just keep an eye on it and if you get concerned call your OB.

I would talk to your OB before you ttc again. If/when you do anyway. I heard that it can cause early miscarriages if you aren't give the shot after birth. Once again, I don't know that much, but better safe than sorry!

I'm going to talk to my OB at my 6 week checkup. The site you listed said the rhoGAM shot wasn't necessary is the baby was negative & the mother was positive because the mother already has the positive rh antibodies. I'm still going to ask though because the hospital didn't mention any need of the shot either. Since SO & I are both positive but carriers for the negative allele we produced an a negative baby
