Guess it's not too bad

That breastfeeding didn't work out.  

Well, not really. I do miss it and wish it worked out, but holy smurf I would have had NO support full-term breastfeeding.

I was at a very close family friend's house with my mom tonight. My mom was talking about how disgusting it is when people breastfeed kids over a year old, and they were all agreeing and bashing moms that do it.  

Some of the smurf they were saying was so ridiculous, I just said "Well, I guess it's good we stopped, or else you would have made both of us feel disgusting for continuing, when it's actually what's best." only to my mom though. Then I stepped outside for a minute.


Idk, it just really annoyed me how they were calling it disgusting, unnatural, and my friend's mom goes "And they wonder why there's so many perverts in the world."   Seriously?

Ugh I can't stand people like that. I recently weaned my 4 year old and I got so much smurf for it.

That's lame, and ignorant. Sorry.  

I mentioned to my mom that DS2 bit me the other day with his new teeth and she made the comment "Well, you don't have to nurse him for much longer" (he is 10 months and she thinks I'm stopping at 12 months).

She and the rest of my family are going to have a big wake up call when they realize I'm planning on letting him self wean and that I would love to go to at least 2 years before we stop.

Some people are just ignorant and inconsiderate.
I've learned to take a lot about parenting choices with a grain of salt.
I get bashed for wanting to cloth diaper. Like really?
Ugh. I'm with you, though. I hate when people feel it's their place to judge another parent's choices in raising their children. It's not their child, so I don't understand why they care so much.

My family says the same thing. I have ZERO support but we've been breastfeeding for 2.5 years. I get asked daily when I'm going to wean her. Not exaggerating either, every damn day. I don't know why people take such interest in what I do with MY boobs.  

I just don't get why they care. Or how it's disgusting.
I mean, I live with my mom. Had my DD not had so many allergies and constipation issues, we would be breastfeeding until she self-weaned. My mom would have probably told me how disgusting it is and how I'm ruining her.


Then again, she said the same thing for CIO and shuts her mouth now because my kid sleeps like an angel and has never once CIO.  

That's how my grandparents are. It's so annoying I can't stand them. Thank god my mom and mil are awesome and both bf until their babes were 2
