My pedi said that really the only thing I shouldn't eat is like spicy Indian food. And if you eat something then notice your baby is fussy, don't eat it again before you nurse.

Im not a picky eater but never had a problem with bubs. I only breastfeed. & I couldnt take the prenatals while breastfeeding.
If you take the prenatals she should get all the nutrition she needs

I never restricted my diet while breastfeeding other than no alcohol and limited caffeine once I found out what did and didn't affect my kids. Certain foods made my kids gassy so I avoided those or spicy stuff messed with their acid reflux. You just have to test things and see what bothers them and what doesn't : ) My son is 19 months and still nursing and nothing bothers him at all lol. Good luck!!

I ate as much protein as possible. I ate almonds like crazy because I don't eat meat. I just stay away from too much caffeine or alcohol. It was really hard in the beginning but I fought for it and it has been so worth it! The bond you share with your baby is incredible! I recommend asking your hospital nurse if you can see a lactation consultant after you've had the baby before you are released. Good luck!

I breast fed my first son who is now 3, I was hoping he would love veggies now, but for some reason he still don't, Then I remember that I did not eat a lot of veggies when I was nursing him......your baby may or may not take up your love of certain foods when he or she starts eating solids. I hope you enjoy your nursing experience for as long as it lasts. My son for some reason weened himself by 8 months old. I am hoping with this new baby to come any time he wants now, I will be able to nurse him longer, since I will not be in such a high stress situation........Congratulations on making this decision, I wish you the best of luck.
