Feedings first day home

posted 4th Dec
It's like she has been on the boob a lot today kinda like most of the day when she eats she will fall asleep and when you take her off she gets fussy... Since my mom didn't come in is she still getting enough milk ?

She is having a growth spurt which is normal. It will help your milk come in. You will probably know when it comes in because your breasts will get huge and hurt

Their tummy is still go tiny. Have you became engorged yet?

Just let her nurse. The more she nurses, the more your breasts will establish.

Does it not feel like they are lighter at all after she nurses?

The not feeling a relief or deflate after nursing is what I am iffy about...

Is she doing any of the hunger cues after she nurses?

If not, would say to just keep her nursing as long as she is latching. At her appointment, they will weigh her and you will see if she is gaining the right amount of weight.

If so, it doesnt hurt to call her pediatrician or even the labor and delivery nurses for some advise on what to do. I wouldnt introduce any other feeding but cup feeding right now.

Here is an example of it. It can be messy, but it avoids nipple confusion and you will know if she is drinking enough and just needs your comfort of nursing her.

Just a warning, there is a baby crying on there so I would turn the volume down before watching!
