re: Delayed cord clamping/ placenta encapsulation

My OB delays clamping for normal births. I think we waited about 10 min before it was cut and they took M to weigh her and check her out.

We did delayed cord cutting. It only took a few minutes for the cord to stop pulsing.

My midwife asked me if I wanted to keep my placenta at one of my prenatal appointments. When we told her we didn't I asked what happens to the placenta and she said she takes it home and puts it in her freezer until she can bring it to the hospital to be disposed of. She told me her kids get mad if she leaves a placenta in the freezer for too long. lmao!

My sister asked her midwife just yesterday about placenta encapsulation! She said the hospitals here are pretty used to it now, you just have to notify them when you get checked in and they will keep it on ice until you take it home.

She has already found the lady who does the encapsulation, and she waits until you get home from the hospital to come do it. I can FB you the link to the lady she is using (my friend Robyn used her as well) if you want to ask her questions.
