car seat question

i have a car seat from my last baby, he is 16 mons old. i cant seem to find the expiration date on his car seat, where is it? ive found the date it was manufactured, but no ex. date.

what's the manuf. date? It's usually 6 years, but each seat is different I believe

it was made in 2010, just wondering if i should use it again for this baby, or buy him a new one.

usually a circle type date stamp w 1-12 around wierd looking all of mine i found on the back stamped in the plastic by where the shoulder straps come through

What seat is it? Different manufacturers have different amounts of time that the seat will last.

Sometimes there will be a "do not use after xx/xx/xx" stamped on the plastic on the back, but not always.

its a greyco, not sure of the mode, i threw all that info away

Graco seats expire in December of the 6th year after manufacture. So if it was made 01/06 for example, it would expire 12/12.

well then its still good! dang it i was hoping little guy would get a new one! o well ill just tell my hubby its expired so i can get a new one lol

LOL! I'm the same, I love getting new seats for my kiddos. If all else fails, you could see if Graco would sell you a different cover for the seat.

same here, I love new stuff. I would sell it at a consignment place.

I got a seat from a good friend for this LO, and it's got a boy cover so I'm borrowing a girly cover from another friend for this one. I figure that if I can save a little money on the infant seat, hubby will be more likely to let me get a really great convertible for her at tax time.
